Today in Music History, February 10

Thirty seven years ago on this date “Dream On,”, the album version,  from Aerosmith’s debut album, was peaking on the U.S. charts as a single.    In its original form it was  the second hit from Aerosmith  from their 1973 debut album.   The song was written by lead singer Steven Tyler.  Originally released in June 1973, it peaked at number 59 nationally but hit big in the band’s native Boston.

The album version of “Dream On” , which, at a running time of 4:28, is about a minute longer than the original single was reissued in early January 1976.     It debuted at number 81 On January 10th, breaking into the Top 40 on February 14th and peaking at number 6 on the Billboard charts in April.

Once Steven Tyler performed this song atop a monster, do you know the monster to which I am referring?
