Today in Music History, March 9

46 years ago today The Supremes were enjoying number one success with  ” Love is Here And Now You’re Gone.”

This was The Supreme’s 9th Number one single.  Recorded in studios in both Hitsville USA, (Motown) and LA, it was another great Motown hit written by Holland/Dozier/Holland.  It features several spoken sections from lead singer Diana Ross, who delivers her dialogue in a dramatic, emotive voice.
